  • The Sun Trolley will be operating during its regular service schedule. There will be one trolley providing additional service on the Las Olas Link from 6:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. along Las Olas Blvd. to Andrews Ave.
  • The Riverwalk Water Trolley will be operating during its regular service schedule. There will be an additional vessel providing service starting at 5 p.m. All vessels providing service will operate until 1 a.m.

Galk Link Proposed to be Temporarily Suspended Starting December 1

The Galt Link is proposed to be temporarily suspended starting December 1, 2017 through May 2019 for the evaluation of the existing route for recommended improvements. The City of Fort Lauderdale’s City Commission will consider this proposal at their November 21, 2017 City Commission meeting.

Sun Trolley to Launch Guided Tours of Fort Lauderdale in October 2017

 The Sun Trolley is now offering guided tours on the third Saturday of each month beginning Saturday, October 21, 2017.

Whether you are a long-time Broward County resident or are visiting South Florida for the first time, this two-hour guided tour is your ultimate backstage pass to the “Venice of the Americas.” Tour participants will learn about Fort Lauderdale’s rich history, nature, nightlife and some of the most eclectic neighborhoods, as well as Fort Lauderdale’s fast growth and exciting upcoming projects.

“Our charming red and yellow trolleys have become a Fort Lauderdale icon,” said Robyn Chiarelli, Executive Director of the Downtown Fort Lauderdale Transportation Management Association. “The goal of our new guided tours is to create a fun and educational experience for our guests as they learn more about Fort Lauderdale and all it has to offer.”

The guided tours will run from 10 a.m. to noon. Guests will board the trolley at The Galleria at Fort Lauderdale and visit various points of interest such as the FATVillage/MASS District, Historic Sistrunk, the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, Fort Lauderdale Beach, Hugh Taylor Birch State Park, and many more!

Tour tickets are $38 per person and $24 for each child under 12 years old. Infants under 2 years old ride free. Click here to purchase tickets. Please arrive 30 minutes prior to departure, as the trolley will leave promptly at 10 a.m. Please note that the tour’s end time might vary due to traffic, events, and unexpected circumstances.

Las Olas Blvd. Temporary Road Closure – June 17, 2017

Intersection at E. Las Olas Boulevard and SE 3rd Avenue to Temporarily Close 

June 17, 2017 | 5 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The City of Fort Lauderdale Transportation and Mobility Department, in coordination with the Broward County Traffic Engineering Division, will temporarily close the intersection at E. Las Olas Boulevard and SE 3rd Avenue on Saturday, June 17, 2017 from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. to touch up the painted intersection. As a result, the SE 3rd Avenue Bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic, but will remain accessible to boaters, pedestrians, and bicyclists.  The detours for this closure are as follows:

  • Motorists traveling eastbound on E. Las Olas Boulevard will be detoured north to SE 2 Street via SE 2 Avenue.
  • Motorists traveling westbound on E. Las Olas Boulevard will be detoured north to SE 2 Street via SE 5 Avenue. 
  • Motorists traveling southbound on SE 3rd Avenue will be detoured to S. Andrews Avenue via SE 2 Street.
  • Motorists traveling northbound on SE 3rd Avenue will be detoured to S. Andrews Avenue via SE 6 Street.

Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes to avoid traffic delays in and around the restricted area. Motorists are also reminded to proceed with caution throughout the detour areas to ensure the safety of workers, pedestrians, bicyclists, and other motorists. 

The Las Olas Link will be following designated detours during this time.

 

Las Olas Link Service Advisory: Las Olas Blvd Construction

Construction improvements along Las Olas Boulevard from Isle of Capri Drive west of the Intracoastal Waterway in Fort Lauderdale will begin on June 18, 2017 and will be completed in approximately two months.

Traffic Impact

  • The outside land in each direction of Las Olas Boulevard from Isle of Capri Drive to the Intracoastal Waterway may be closed Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Specific lane closure information will be provided in the weekly traffic report distributed by FDOT

Please be advised that this construction project will affect our Las Olas Link service. Guests will experience longer than usual delays while the lane closures are taking place.
