How it Works
Passengers who want to catch a lift on Lauderdale-By-The-Sea’s free Pelican Hopper community shuttle service can now use their smart phone to check when the next shuttle will arrive at their location thanks to the Sun Trolley’s award-winning Tracker App.
In partnership with the Town of Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, the Sun Trolley’s Tracker App will now track the real-time location of the Pelican Hopper along with the trolleys on all seven of the Sun Trolley’s routes and the Riverwalk Water Trolley. The Sun Trolley Tracker App is available on smart phones, for Apple and Android devices, desktop computers and laptops.
Improving Passenger Connections
Robyn Chiarelli, Executive Director of the Downtown Fort Lauderdale TMA, which manages the Sun Trolley, said the expansion of the app to include the Pelican Hopper will improve connections for both Sun Trolley customers and those who use the Lauderdale-By-The-Sea service.
“The Pelican Hopper and Sun Trolley’s Galt Link intersect at the Galt Ocean Mile Reading Center and the Fort Lauderdale Beach Community Center and the two routes share a similar customer base,” said Chiarelli. “We’ve received customer requests for better connections between the two routes, and adding the Pelican Hopper to the Tracker App is a good first step in improving that connection.”
The Tracker App can be downloaded free from the App or Google Play stores or by visiting www.suntrolley.com/sun-trolley-tracker.
